The Airedale is known as the King of all terriers. Loved by all, this noble, beautiful breed doesn’t ever go unnoticed in the streets.
Lakeland terriers make up great company to the Airedales. These cheerful, active dogs won’t ever let you get bored! Every time during our walks, we get asked: “What breed is this? Are those Fox Terriers…Irish Terriers…or maybe Welsh?? Wait… they probably Airedale puppies!”
No, these are Lakelands! Please make yourself comfortable, we will tell you everything you need to know about them in an instant.
About our dog kennel
The Ars Viva kennel is quite young (certificate of registration No. 14205 dated 10/18/2012), although the first puppies were born in our home back in 1991. We are currently working with two breeds – Lakeland Terrier and Airedale Terrier. Dogs with the ARS VIVA prefix actively participate in exhibitions in not only Russia and Europe, but also in some farther corners of the planet. Among our graduates there are champions of Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Poland, USA, Thailand, also some World and European champions! I want to express my deep gratitude to all the dog owners for these achievements, because we know perfectly well how hard it is to raise champions. Raising and nurturing a real fighter, preparing the terriers coat for an exhibition and presenting a dog in the best shape is a real art!
What child doesn’t dream of having a dog? But while some dream, others make their dreams come true…
I got my first dog in 1988. I was only thirteen years old at the time and my parents finally agreed to let a dog in our home, having decided that further resistance was pointless…
My first dog was an Airedale, the King of all terriers, or rather the Queen! It was she who led me into the world of dog breeding. I started with the “young fighter” courses (courses for young dog owners) before the puppy even appeared in our house. And one day there she was – a small black ball of fur. I must say, this “little ball of fur” knew from day one she was of royal blood! By the age of a year and a half, the puppy has turned into a beautiful dog, full of dignity and with high self worth. In the mean time I have been making my first attempts at trimming, training, and dog shows. Then there were victories in competitions, the first puppies in the house and the first times parting with them…
For a period of time the exhibition work and competitions became less of a priority. However, in 2001, a young dog appeared in our house – Airedale Terrier by the name of Quick Fly Kiwi Caramel. She was amazing in all respects – a dog that did not need to be trained. She was already prepared for the prize ring – she knew everything herself! I decided to once again dive into the ocean of exhibitions, trips and new meetings. Quick Fly Kiwi Caramel left many descendants behind, in fact, her granddaughter still lives in our house. Already then I began to be interested in a new breed for me – Lakeland Terriers. Finally, an important decision was made and we took in a Lakeland! However, this is a completely different story … you can follow its development on the pages of our website.
